The first shows I played were house shows, intimate gatherings that may only be 5-10 people but as a performer you had everyone's undivided attention. I dont get that feeling much anymore, bar shows are boring, coffee shop shows are USUALLY filled with folks that dont want to hear what you have to say, house shows in Chicago are for punk bands now.

What happened on 3/2/2019 for Dan Lewis' birthday in the upstairs of Jimmy Beans, a great little coffee shop in Logan Square, was rare! A small gathering of friends, who one by one each got up and played their sets. All the while, chatting in between songs. It felt good, it felt real good. We should do it more often. I still love music and I hope you do too!

On the bill this night was Michelle Weinberg, Dan Lewis, Matt Sobczyk and myself.
